Day and Weekend Courses in Sussex in and around the Ashdown Forest

Day Courses 

These are popular for all groups and offer maximum activity within the time available in one day. Our location near Gatwick is easily accessed from anywhere in London and the south-east.

The Trekking Company offers 3 types of day course:

•   Multi Activity

• Rock Climbing and Scrambling

• Problem Solving/Team Building

Multi Activity Days are our most popular courses. Based at Blackland Farm near East Grinstead, these can involve up to 5 activities in one day. Group sizes can vary from 10 to 150. Activities can be chosen from the following:

 Costs - This depends on which activities you'd like, whether you want us to supply lunch, and other factors. However the basic cost (2008) is around £35 per person per day. Please note that it's not proportionately cheaper to do a part day, so half a day would still be around 80% of the price - sorry!


  Rock Climbing and Scrambling Days take place at Harrisons Rocks near Tunbridge Wells. This is the largest rock outcrop in the South East which offers a wide range of climbs for all abilities. Learn to climb in a safe environment while having a fun and enjoyable introduction to the sport. Rock Scrambling is a cross between climbing and caving - it involves running, climbing, squeezing and crawling on, up, over and under rocks and boulders. It provides non stop activity and is always extremely popular with everyone.

  Problem Solving/Team Building Days are based at Blackland Farm or at Broadstone Warren near Forest Row, outside East Grinstead. They have proved very popular and effective for companies as they involve team building, self-esteem enhancing, initiative and communication exercises based around aspects of the outdoors. Abseiling and an underground cave complex can be included to make this a day to remember. Again group sizes can be anything from 10 upwards.

  Weekends

  We can arrange local hotel accommodation and evening meals - please just call us if you want to make a weekend of it.
